Peace
Exerpt from Inside and Outside Ourselves:
The orchestration of murder that is aggresive
“War evolves from the destructive character of egoist
aggression, whereas peace arrives through the constructive
nature of human spirit.” -Mantak Chia-
So, ponder the following analogy:
“As a dog returns to his vomit,
So a dullard repeats his folly.”
-Proverbs 26.7-
and
“Do not say, “I will do to him what he did to me;
I will pay the man what he deserves.”
-Proverbs 24.29-
“And they shall beat their swords into plowshares
And their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation shall not take up
Sword against nation;
They shall never again know war;
But every man shall sit
Under his grapevine or fig tree
With no one to disturb him.”
-Micah 4.3-4-
Yet, the very idea of peace subdivides easily into three categories:
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace, which, as I have often said is within the souls of men. -Black Elk-
As a result, when that first peace is recognized, one will naturally exclaim:
“I am not an Athenian or a Greek but a citizen of the world.”
-Diogenes-
It is proclaimed:
“If you showed yourself slack in time of trouble,
Wanting in power,
If you refrained from rescuing those taken off to death,
Those condemned to slaughter-
If you say, “We know nothing of it,”
Surely He who fathoms hearts will discern [the truth],
He who watches over your life will know it,
And He will pay each man as he deserves.”
-Proverbs 24.10-12-

I may use some of the quotes you’ve posted for my book… pls don’t change anything, I was amazed by the ones about peace especially… By the way, I make a gradual progress in reading the political philosophy books we’ve talked about.
